The Emerald

This is one of my later drawings using oil sticks. 'View from the Drawing Room'.

The interpretation of lines has been occupying me more and more. This is, as the title suggests, the view from my spot in the drawing room at Epping, overlooking the car park. I simply took the existing lines and extended them across the page, round objects have become a group of straight lines arranged to best represent the shape. Overlapping and colliding, these lines consequently create new shapes, making the negative space around us just as important as the positive.
